Ngozi E. Erondu MD, PhD - President

Executive Medical Director, Gastroenterology in the Immunology Therapeutic Area at Johnson&Johnson Innovative Medicine. Ngozi graduated from the College of Medicine, University of Lagos, Nigeria, after which he proceeded to the California Institute of Technology where he obtained a PhD in Neurobiology. Subsequently, he completed residency training in internal medicine and fellowship in endocrinology followed by an academic appointment in the division of endocrinology at the University of Iowa College of Medicine. For over 20 years, Ngozi has worked in pharmaceutical research and development across multiple therapeutic areas.

Ann M. Ginsberg MD, PhD - Member

Deputy Director, Global Health at the Gates Foundation. She has spent most of her career leading teams to develop safe, effective, accessible drugs and vaccines to treat or prevent tuberculosis for those in greatest need. Ann has served on numerous international and national global health-related advisory committees and boards and as a peer reviewer for a variety of biomedical journals.

Oluade Ajayi MBBS, FAAP- Treasurer

A Neonatologist at CentraCare-St Cloud Hospital, St Cloud Minnesota. He is a member of the Sections for Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine and Global Health of the American Academy of Pediatrics, and the advisory board of the department of Biology, St Cloud State University. He had previously served on the faculty of the College of Health Sciences, University of Ilorin, Ilorin, Nigeria.

Kirk Ways MD, PhD - Vice President

An endocrinologist who served on the faculty of the East Carolina School of Medicine and later worked in pharmaceutical research and development.  He currently is a consultant to pharmaceutical companies and serves on the board of directors for Spruce Biosciences.

Georgianna Harris PhD - Secretary

Has more than 25 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical industry working in basic research and in regulatory affairs across various therapeutic areas. She is currently a regulatory affairs consultant in the pharmaceutical industry.

Mgbechi Ugonna Erondu MD, MFA- Member

Clinical Assistant Professor of Pediatric Anesthesiology and Pediatric Palliative Medicine in the Department of Anesthesia, Perioperative and Pain Medicine and in the Division of Quality of Life and Pediatric Palliative Care at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital/Stanford School of Medicine. After graduating from Princeton University, Mgbechi spent a year in Gaborone, Botswana as a Princeton in Africa fellow (PiAf) with the Botswana-Baylor Pediatric HIV Initiative. She joined the PiAf Alumni Board in 2023 and cites her experiences in Botswana as the motivation for dedicating her career to caring for the most vulnerable among us—the pediatric population.
